A Chicago native, Dwan Buetow's love of music began at an early age as she listened to her mother sing while making breakfast. She joined her then south side church choir at 12, and began directing two of the three church choirs by the age of 15. In High school, she continued singing in various choirs, including the Chicago All City High School Chorus, and competing in vocal competitions as a soloist and member of the choirs. While in college, Dwan continued to study music, focusing on vocal performances of classical and spiritual compositions. This led to community theater work with the Savoy-Aires, and other independent productions.

At Irving Park Lutheran Church, Dwan has served as Director of the Contemporary Ensemble, The Sunday School Singers and The Confirmation Class Singers. Currently, she is the Midweek Worship Coordinator/Praise Leader, and Founded her own singing group, FAITHCHICAGO. She is also the Director of the GRACE Praise Dancers of IPLC, and coordinates the Passion Play during Holy Week.
