Dawn Benson became a member of Irving Park Lutheran Church in 1990, along with her two daughters. She married her husband Mitch in 1992 and her third daughter was baptized in 1994. While she was between jobs in 2000, she received a call to work in the church office answering phones while the receptionist was on vacation. Since then, Dawn has accepted calls to work in the church office on a regular part time basis, as bookkeeper, and as custodian for the inside of the IPLC. When she is not working, Dawn enjoys rehabbing her 3 flat, reading, and spending time with her family.
